Matt Cassady’s diverse legal practice allows him to create positive outcomes for clients in a wide array of circumstances. He litigates on behalf of citizen groups and individuals seeking access to governmental records pursuant to both the Colorado Open Records Act and the Colorado Sunshine Act. Matt also prosecutes and defends claims against Colorado citizens pursuant to the state’s campaign finance regulations. One case, in which Matt served as litigation counsel for a group of aggrieved Colorado taxpayers, reached the United States Supreme Court, in Lance v. Coffman, 127 S. Ct 1194 (2007). Matt’s practice also allows him to defend taxpayer positions in governmental audits of individuals, corporate entities, and personal estates. Matt’s drafting skill in the corporate and securities context has assisted in the creation and funding of a $6 million dollar private placement of securities.
